Intelliconnect raises £200+ for Macmillan Cancer Support
On 28th September, the Intelliconnect team came together to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning in their Chelmsford and Corby branches to help raise vital money for people living with cancer.
Bringing millions of people together for coffee and cake each September, Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become a British institution over the years – with thousands of events happening up and down the country.
Team members brought various baked goods to enjoy over Friday lunchtime and donated money to the very worthwhile cause. The company doubled the amount raised by staff.
Speaking after the event, Roy Phillips said:
“We really enjoyed doing our bit for this year’s Coffee Morning. It was great to get people together and raise money for Macmillan to help people living with cancer at the same time. I want to thank everyone who supported and helped to make it a success.”
“Several staff members and their family members have been affected by cancer, including my late wife so it is a very personal decision to raise money for Macmillan this year and we will continue to do so going forward.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. We ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone Macmillan raised over £27 million and together we can make this another successful year.
The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, we did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
